Discusion Question 6

The first two chapters of this story are devoted to the history of Emilias parents. Do you think that was a neccessary step to enrich this novel, or do you think it could have been left out?

I think that although it was interesting to learn the lives of Emilia's parents and grandparents, Angela Mastretta went a little overboard in how much she described their history. It would have been better if she condensed it, since the story is centered around Emilia, Daniel, and Antonio, not Emilia's parents.

It was unnecessary to explain and go into depth about such random things. It was very interesting though
