Daniel and Emilia were best friends as children, and they were both terribly sad when Daniel's father decided to send him away to boarding school. I found it heartbreaking how the two were separated, and how Daniel was sent away from everything he loved at such a young age. In the modern day world, a parent would never do such a thing to such a young child.
It wasn't right for Daniel to be sent away from all he knew when he was so young. I think his father wasn't really thinking of his wellbeing.
